The JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo is located in the new Takanawa Gateway Complex, directly above Takanawa Gateway Station. It’s a good luxury hotel with great views from some rooms and is a tempting choice for those collecting Marriott Bonvoy points.

JW Marriott Hotel restaurant.
Located just one stop north of Shinagawa Station on the Yamanote Loop Line, the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo is part of the new Takanawa Gateway complex, which offers a variety of shops and restaurants, and there are many more in Shinagawa, which is about a minute away by train. Shinagawa is useful as it’s one of Tokyo’s shinkansen stops and has direct train access to/from Haneda.

JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo pool.
The rooms here are pleasant and some have great views over Tokyo Bay. There’s a pool, spa and six restaurants and bars. It’s good for those on business trips and others who want easy access to Shinagawa and Haneda. We’ve heard a few quibbles about service at the hotel, which is common at new hotels like this, but we assume they’ll be addressed soon.
