Several great hotels have opened in Tokyo in the last year and one important hotel finally reopened after a major refurbishment (the Park Hyatt Tokyo). Here are favorite new hotels in Tokyo in all budget categories as of June 2026.

Quad room at lyf Shibuya Tokyo.
lyf Shibuya Tokyo
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Stylish and social hotel in the heart of Shibuya. The lyf Shibuya Tokyo is aimed at younger independent travelers and longer-stay guests. The rooms are compact but smartly designed, and the common spaces are lively and welcoming. My kids love Shibuya for the skateboarding stores, Loft and the general fun atmosphere, so this feels like a great base for travelers who want to immerse themselves in Tokyo’s youthful energy. Given the location and relatively reasonable rates, it’s a solid value.

Double yellow room at Ocica Oshiage.
Ocica Oshiage Tokyo by R Hotel
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Fresh budget hotel near Tokyo Skytree. Opened in 2025, this smart budget property in Oshiage offers clean, modern rooms at prices often lower than similar hotels in central Tokyo. It’s the kind of place I wished I could find during my backpacking days: friendly, social, inexpensive and good for meeting other travelers. The location is convenient for Skytree, Asakusa and direct airport access, and the neighborhood feels calmer than Shinjuku or Shibuya. A great choice for younger travelers and budget-conscious visitors.

Fairmont Tokyo pool with a view.
Fairmont Tokyo
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Tokyo Bay luxury with easy Haneda access. Opened in 2025 near Hamamatsucho Station, the Fairmont Tokyo is one of the city’s biggest luxury openings in years. I’ve always had a soft spot for Fairmont hotels (I often stay at the Fairmont YVR before flights), so I was excited to see the brand arrive in Tokyo. The location may look slightly inconvenient on the map, but it’s actually very practical: close to Haneda, near Hamarikyu Garden and well connected to the rest of the city. The rooms have excellent bay and skyline views and the whole place feels polished without being stuffy.

Park Hyatt Tokyo guest room.
Park Hyatt Tokyo (Reopening)
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
The Park Hyatt, which just reopened in late 2025 after a thorough renovation, is the classic Tokyo skyscraper hotel with eye-popping views, great facilities and a convenient West Shinjuku location. It’s one of the most stylish and iconic hotels in the city and the pool is simply amazing.

Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho guest room.

(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
The Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho is a solid new midrange hotel within walking distance of Tokyo Station and Nihombashi. The hotel has clean and fresh style and well-appointed rooms. So, for a business or leisure traveler who wants easy access to the station, this is a great choice.

Onyado Nono Asakusa daiyokujo (onsen-style bath).
Onyado Nono Natural Hot Spring Asakusa
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Onsen-style bath, close to Senso-ji Temple.
A short walk from the famous Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa, this ryokan-style hotel boasts a natural hot spring. It may not be a true onsen, but it’s a nice bath. The rooms are small but if you’re just sleeping here, it should be fine. Given the low rates and convenient location in Asakusa, it’s good for a night or two.

OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda guest room.
OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda by Hoshino Resorts
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Good value, great views. If you don’t mind being a bit away from the main centers, the OMO5 in Gotanda offers competitive rates for clean, comfortable rooms that offer views across the city. It’s on the loop line and close to Shinagawa, which offers easy access to Haneda. The “smart” laundry facilities are good for those on longer trips.

Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya “apartment” room.
Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Apartment-style rooms near the station. The “House” in the name refers to the fact that some of the units here have all the things you appreciate in your own home: cooking and laundry facilities. These are great for families and those on extended trips. There’s also a gym. It’s very close to Shibuya Station. Rates in the luxury bracket.

Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei guest room.
Onyado Nono Asakusa Bettei
(View on Booking.com or Agoda.com)
Onsen ryokan-style hotel in Asakusa. If you’d like a Japanese-style hotel, check out the Onyado Nono in Asakusa. It’s an onsen ryokan-style hotel, where you remove your shoes when you enter. There are tatami mats and futons in the rooms and there’s a great “onsen” (actually, large bathing area). Rates are midrange.
