October 2022: Please note Kojimachi Café has now permanently closed. Please see our Tokyo Imperial Palace page for other places to eat and drink in the district.
Kojimachi Café in the Hanzomon/Kojimachi area, a little west of the Imperial Palace, is a fine spot for brunch, lunch, dinner, or drinks. The ‘no noise’ sign out front is great news for those who prefer eating in more serene surroundings.

In a business district like Hanzomon, you’ll find the usual medley of ramen joints, rowdy izakayas, and expensive fine dining restaurants. What’s more unusual is that there's a place like Kojimachi Café that’s located just one minute from Hanzomon Station.

Kojimachi Café is a spacious, elegant cafe that’s popular as a meeting spot. With an emphasis on local, organic ingredients and a carefully-curated wine selection, it wouldn’t be out of place in the Nakameguro or Kichijoji neighborhoods. And, the ‘no noise’ sign out front is great news for those who prefer eating in more serene surroundings.
Weekend brunch restaurants are still comparatively uncommon in Tokyo, but this café is a perfectly decent destination for meals at this time of the day. Expect well-executed classics like pancakes and eggs Benedict.
