Mitsui Garden Hotel Gotanda - Tokyo At A Glance
- Great for: flashpackers, couples, small families
- Strong points: reasonable rates, stylish rooms, clean
- Sample rates: US$150 to $250
Mitsui Garden lobby
The Mitsui Garden chain offers solid mid-range rooms at prices that sometimes fall into the budget category. This is particularly true of this branch in Gotanda, where the slightly inconvenient location is factored into the price. But don’t be put off by the Gotanda location: It’s right on the loop line and you’re not terribly far from places like Tokyo Station and Shibuya. Being at the southern edge of the loop line also means that the hotel is very convenient to Haneda Airport.
Mitsui Garden exterior
The rooms here are small but well appointed. The hotel itself is clean and well run and the staff are efficient. There are some good shops and restaurants nearby. So, if you’re looking to save a little money and you don’t mind staying a bit away from the big hubs of Tokyo – or perhaps you actually want to be away from the crowds – the Mitsui in Gotanda is well worth a look!
