Though Numazu Uogashizushi doesn’t look like much, this nondescript-looking restaurant in Tokyo Station’s Kitchen Street offers sushi sets that are great value for money.

There are so many restaurants in Tokyo Station that it’s easy to be overwhelmed by all the options. At times like this, it’s often easiest to head to tried-and-true favorites. We like Numazu Uogashizushi, a little sushi bar tucked away in a quiet corner of Kitchen Street.

It doesn’t look like much, and there aren’t many seats in the restaurant. But the location means that there isn’t usually a queue, and it’s not too difficult to get a seat.

Numazu Uogashizushi uses fish from Suruga Bay, which is reputedly a habitat for more than 1200 kinds of fish. As you’d expect, the selection of sushi here is varied, fresh, and comes in generous portions - it’s rather good value for money, especially considering it’s Tokyo Station.

This isn’t going to be a fancy sushi meal, but it really hits the spot when you just want a quick, simple and relatively healthy meal. There’s also another branch of this restaurant in the nearby Marunouchi Building on the 6th floor.
