The Panasonic Center in Odaiba is a hands-on, interactive science museum geared at kids and adults alike. The best part is that under-18s enter for free.

In addition to the excellent Miraikan on the other side of Odaiba, budding scientists in Tokyo should add the Panasonic Center to their must-visit lists.

The Panasonic Center functions both as a showroom for their consumer products as well as a very engaging science museum for children and adults alike. There’s also a section called the Nintendo Game Front where visitors can try out the latest games from this company.

The science museum is in the RiSuPia section of the center on the second and third floors, with exhibits set up as interactive games and hands-on activities revolving around scientific concepts and natural phenomena. It’s tourist-friendly, too: exhibit descriptions are bilingual, as are the accompanying headset audio files.

As a bonus, admission is free to those under the age of 18, while adults will have to pay an entry fee. This makes it a relatively budget-friendly option for families visiting Tokyo, so it’s worth considering the Panasonic Center when making a trip out to Odaiba.
The Panasonic Center is a short walk away from JR Kokusaitenjijo Station (Saikyo Line) and Ariake Station (Yurikamome Monorail). When you exit the ticket barriers at Kokusaitenjijo Station, turn right and keep walking straight. You’ll see the entrance after a few minutes.
