If you’re looking for upscale yet approachable sushi near Tokyo Station, then Sushi & Bar Fujiro is the move. The sushi here is very good, the rates are moderate (for sushi) and it’s super convenient.

It’s located on the 7th floor of the Shin-Marunouchi Building, directly across from the Marunouchi side of Tokyo Station, meaning it’s very easy to find. It’s in the stylish Marunouchi House restaurant hall (if Fujiro is full, they are plenty of other appealing options nearby). Because this is an upscale office tower, this restaurant hall attracts a neatly dressed crowd, so you’ll feel a little out of place in shorts and other casual tourist gear.

The menu has some basic English on it and the sushi chefs and waitresses can handle basic English requests. They have good sets for both lunch and dinner. At lunch, the chef’s omakase premium course (tencho omakase sushi jo) is excellent and costs ¥7700.

I ordered the premium omakase the other day and I found the toro to be superb, along with the uni, which is a personal favorite. All the other items in the course were delicious – whoever is buying their fish really knows their stuff.
