If you feel unwell in Tokyo or have run out (or forgotten to bring) a prescription medicine, the Tokyo Station International Clinic can be a lifesaver. With three English-speaking doctors, they can handle most minor medical issues.

It can be a serious hassle for travelers to find medical care in Japan. Just walking into a Japanese hospital can be intimidating and knowing where to go and explaining what you need can be tricky. For the typical maladies that affect travelers, it’s often better to visit a small clinic which offers care in English (and other languages) to travelers. Located at the south end of the Yaesu side of Tokyo Station, this is probably the most convenient such clinic in Tokyo.

The consultation fee here is ¥11,000 to ¥13,000 and the fee for prescriptions is ¥2,500. Payment is by cash or credit card. If you want your health or travel insurance to cover the visit, you will have to provide certification of payment prior to seeing a doctor. Prescriptions issued here can be filled at any nearby pharmacy. Waiting time is usually relatively brief.

To find the clinic, exit the Yaesu (east) side of Tokyo Station and turn right, walking south along the front of the station. The clinic is just past the JR Highway Bus boarding area.
